PROACTIVE CLINICAL/QUALITY DIRECTOR:  CATALYST OF CHANGE (SOMETHING MORE PURPOSEFUL)

Yorkshire    |    “Sustaining Success”    |    c. £100K/£110k + Bens & Equity

“…Driving Quality, Embedding Values, Creating Value via Enlightened Growth, Enabling People and Delivering Dignity”

Our client is an outstanding provider of ethical services in the care domain.  They have a superb reputation for service quality and integrity, for value and for values.  A trusted partner… they have built real brand and people equity – with service users, staff, commissioners, regulators and the public, alike.  A sustainable business and service model of fulfilment and commercial success (that is profitable, liquid and well capitalised via recent P/E investment) for continued, controlled growth.  Turning over c£65m and employing around 2,400 they have reached “critical-mass” with the infrastructure platform to develop their business, its people, their proposition and its positive user impact.

They seek a proactive and incisive Clinical Director to be their quality catalyst to underpin the company’s mission and its business and fulfilment goals with a sustainable and dynamic clinical governance envelope.  Quality care, systems, facilities and people are at the core of their delivering better nurse-led specialist care.

The reporting is to the CEO, on the Board (with strong liaison with Ops & HR).  The role is to be the fulcrum of quality and governance in the business; embedding best practice and clinical excellence within the Care Practitioner Group and beyond (company-wide).  The responsibility is for the company’s clinical governance (optimising the balance of risk exposure and cost-effective fulfilment) via the provision of a strong and accurate clinical risk management system/a rigorous quality regime that will ensure as, a minimum, compliance with all CQC, SLA and HSE standards and statutory duties.  The remit is then to design, communicate and implement this as a practical and sustainable quality strategy, aligned to the business plan/operating model and to cascade it throughout the company on an ongoing/rolling basis (bought into and executed by one and all).  The requirement is, therefore,  to set, deliver and “own”  this agenda ensuring that all systems, controls, protocols, processes and policies are in place (tied to all relevant touch-points in a tight Governance Programme) leveraging the right resourcing, reporting deployment/rostering, training and development, recruitment and coaching (plus support) to make “every day better” for the client group.

Either a nurse or other medical practitioner, you have extensive clinical experience in a senior role.  You could be from private care, hospitals etc. or be in the NHS.  But you are both commercial and financially literate (as to cost of care/resourcing etc.) and may be frustrated/constrained  by the lack of impact you feel you are allowed, but can still demonstrate your acumen as you’ve built your CV.  A strong leader and influencer with a good rapport with the regulator, you have good working knowledge of UK clinical legislation and possess both internal and external credibility.  A proactive change catalyst, you want to have more impact – something more purposeful.  We may have that challenge.
