Boarding School Healthcare Manager
This is a unique opportunity to take on a significant management role following the launch of our new Health Centre in September 2016. The opening of this new facility marks the start of a new stage in the development of health care and health promotion at Wycombe Abbey and we seek an experienced Healthcare Manager to lead our medical provision into this new phase.
The Healthcare Manager will be responsible for the strategic development of the Health Centre in line with recommended best practice guidelines from the Royal College of Nursing, Boarding Schools Association and other regulatory bodies as necessary. In conjunction with senior management, the Health Care Manager will set the framework for the provision of care for pupils, liaising with relevant departments as necessary. The post holder must ensure that the Centre provides a clinically effective, high quality and efficient response to any medical queries or situations, whilst ensuring a caring approach is maintained. The Healthcare Manager must take a proactive role in promoting health awareness and providing medical education and support to key areas of the School, as well as providing guidance on health issues for staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, a strong understanding of clinical issues and a clear and innovative vision for healthcare promotion in a modern boarding setting.
Hours of work: 40 hours per week during Wycombe Abbey term time plus 3 weeks during the holidays.
