Play your part in the very best cast
Are you an experienced Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner looking for a fresh start and an exciting challenge? Look no further, because here at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, we can offer you all that and more.
We are an exceptional specialist orthopaedic hospital with a world-wide reputation for innovation and, most importantly, for excellent patient care.
This summer we have expanded with the opening of a £15.1 million new development. This includes four state-of-the-art Operating Theatres, which offers our world class staff truly world class facilities in which to work. Now we want to add to our excellent team to support our growth.
We have opportunities for Band 5 Theatre Scrub Nurses/Practitioners and Operating Department Practitioners, and are able to offer both full and part-time posts, with duties covering Monday to Saturday shifts and low-frequently on-calls.
You will join a friendly and supportive Theatre team where your professional development will be our priority. We have a dedicated practice development practitioner who will ensure you have a structured orientation programme through the sub-specialty teams.
We have a total of 10 theatres (with plans to increase to 13 in 2017), with specialist teams delivering orthopaedic surgery across the sub-specialties of Arthroplasty, Foot and Ankle, Upper Limb, Tumour, Spinal, Sports Injury and Paediatric Surgery.
The hospital is situated in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, on the Welsh border, in the middle of an extensive unspoilt rural area. We have excellent transport links, being served by a local rail station, and only being 30 minutes by road from Chester and Shrewsbury. Manchester and Liverpool airports are about an hour by road, and Birmingham airport 90 minutes. There is a good and varied choice of reasonably-priced housing, many well-regarded schools (both state and independent).
Specialist Theatre Bank
We are also looking for experienced orthopaedic theatre nurses, operating department practitioners and first surgical assistants to join our Specialist Theatre Bank, which attracts an double-time hourly rate payment for all shifts worked.
