The post holder will be vital to the OOH Unit’s success, assessing, diagnosing, treating and discharging patients autonomously every day.
Our Buckinghamshire Out of Hours are currently seeking Permanent ANPs across a variety of locations within the region:
Wycombe PCC, Wycombe General Hospital, High Wycombe
Minor Injuries & Ilness Unit, Wycombe General Hospital, High Wycombe
Stoke Mandeville PCC, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury
Amersham PCC, Amersham Health Centre, Amersham
Buckingham PCC, Buckingham Community Hospital, Buckingham

Responsible for delivering face-to-face and telephone services enabling patients to obtain health advice from the appropriate health care professional.
Ordering investigations and interpreting results, you will hold a Nurse Prescribing certificate and be competent to prescribe for patients and be responsible for providing an excellent standard of patient care and health promotion to the general public accessing urgent care services.
Take the lead role in the provision of Palliative care and other specialist nursing services within the unscheduled care environment.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you will have:
•Nurse-led management of minor illness, minor ailments and injuries
•Recent primary and community nursing experience
•Recent experience of face-to-face patient care
•Experience of patient contact services and / or primary care nursing
•Ability to think logically, to make decisions, cope with stress and work with all levels of staff
•Experience and demonstrable competencies of paediatric assessment and treatment within primary care environment
•Excellent communication skills
•Good listening skills
•To possess imagination and intuition
•To be confident in autonomous face-to-face patient interactions
•Experience of working independently within Nurse Practitioner / Specialist role
•Evidence of research or study into extended roles for nurses in primary care
•Degree level / Postgraduate level ANP Qualification
•Evidence of recent study (PREP)
•Recognised Non-Medical Independent Prescribing Qualification
•Postgraduate Teaching/ Mentorship Course e.g. ENB 998
•Level 3 - Face to face Child Protection training (within last 3 years) and Level 1 e-Learning in the years in between (Safeguarding Board requirement)
•Further professional qualification e.g. District Nurse (DN) / Health Visitor (HV)
•Immediate Life Support (ILS)/ Advanced Life Support (ALS)
This is a permanent role and we have full or part time positions available. Full time is 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis. The successful candidate will be required to work shifts during the service opening times of:
Monday - Friday: 6.30pm - 8am
Weekends & Bank Holidays - 24 hours
