BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in the Nursing department.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • RGN or EN or equivalent
  • Post Registration clinical course ENB 237 or N59
  • Relevant transferable experience/skills (Desirable)
  • Excellent Clinical Skills 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Familiar with clinical governance
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Duties of this role include:  

  • To identify, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care offered to patients and Consultants through effective systems, documentation and communication.
  • To demonstrate a consistently high standard of nursing care
  • To contribute to the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the clinical environment
  • To identify ways to grow and develop the unit.
  • To provide care of the highest standard based on sound knowledge and current research findings
  • To accept responsibility and be professionally accountable for co-ordinating total nursing care for a defined group of patients.
  • Effectively provide shift leadership to the ward as required
  • Promote a patient centred style of clinical practice, maintaining legible records of patient care
  • To act as a mentor to junior members of nursing staff sharing knowledge and skills
  • Encourage a learning and supportive environment, assist with developing competencies to enable other staff to manage patients having had surgical procedures.
