Position Advisor - Tissue Viability Nurse - Nottinghamshire

Salary - £30,000 DOE plus Bonus and Pension Maternity cover 6-9 months

An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RGN) to work in the Nottinghamshire area as a Clinical Nurse Advisor/Educator dealing with patients who have pressure ulcers, burns and spinal injuries.

Our client is the only independent provider of bed management services to the NHS. They have 16 contracts across 28 hospital sites and are the second largest provider of bed management services to the NHS.

Clinical Nurse Advisor/Trainer Responsibilities:
* To work with Trust Tissue Viability and Manual Handling staff in the provision of training and development of staff across our existing customer sites or new customer sites
* Ensure the appropriate use of equipment and encourage reassessment of patients in order to assist the Trusts in ensuring the most efficient usage of specialist therapy equipment
* Coordinate and support the delivery services within the contracted accounts
* To identify and develop new products that benefit patient outcomes within your hospital(s)
* Follow-up from sales activities to promote and support new technologies - encouraging use.
* Report back to key account management team any issues / challenges or opportunities
* Work with customer to Implement i-Tracker and drive appropriate usage as appropriate

Specific Clinical Support Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse Advisor/Trainer you will -
* Provide on-going training and advice at ward level to ensure appropriate equipment usage in line with the Trust protocols
* Provide advice and information to patients and carers on the aspects of mattresses for tissue viability, electric bed frames and any other contracted product
* Follow up on all key specialist products within 24 hours of installation (e.g. Dolphin, Bari10A, Total Care Sport )
* Encourage reassessment of patients in order to assist the Trust in ensuring the most efficient usage of specialist equipment - use i-Tracker to monitor length of stay and carry out a check every 10 days
* To effectively monitor the usage of pressure reducing and relieving products on behalf of the contracted Trusts
* Provide patient follow-up visits and bedside training
* To actively participate in the Tissue Viability and Manual Handling training and education programmes and the Trusts' mandatory training sessions for trained and untrained staff, using a variety of training aids and product selection tools
* Offer product and / or wound care training workshops
* In agreement with the Tissue Viability team, the Clinical Advisor will plan pressure ulcer prevalence surveys as required. This will include pre-training and planning, coordination of staff on the day, collection of the data, ensuring standardisation and work with the KAM to present the outcome back to the Trust within 5 -10 days
* To take a lead role in ensuring the pressure relieving equipment is utilised appropriately and step-down procedures are being followed
* Work with the Trust to help monitor and drive CQUIN targets and the elimination of avoidable pressure ulcers

Requirements
* Purely advising on the clinical products, as our clients have a medical sales rep who deals with all the sales for the hospital
* Current active pin
* Acute medical background
* Relevant Nursing background - Tissue Viability, Burns
* On Call - off site and will be paid enhancements
* Calm person, good beside manner when dealing with patients and families
