An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the existing, highly skilled team at our Maidstone site, which provides a comprehensive range of occupational health and welfare counselling services to over 5,500 Police Officers and Police Staff throughout Kent Police.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced leader with a high level of knowledge and skill who has the passion to develop occupational health service delivery including clinical liaison with our contracted occupational health physician and on-site occupational health nurses. You will need to be a Registered General Nurse with a Diploma, Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health with at least three years proven experience of managing a diverse portfolio and providing an occupational health service to a range of organisations together with experience of leading and managing a team within an occupational health setting. You will possess excellent communication skills in working with managers at all levels to facilitate good health and wellbeing within the workplace.

In this key role you will work closely with the Health Services Manager and the Welfare & Counselling Manager and other members of the senior management team in taking responsibility for leading and managing the occupational health activities for Kent Police.

This role provides a real opportunity to shape service delivery in a friendly, dynamic and challenging environment.

This role is based at Force Headquarters in Maidstone with the requirement to travel to locations around Kent as business determines. There is an occasional requirement to travel to Essex Police headquarters in Chelmsford, therefore a full driver’s license is an essential requirement for this post holder.

The working hours are 37 hours per week, with no shift, weekend or bank holiday working required. The salary is £44,232 - £49,974 annual leave starting at 28 days per year, plus bank holidays and flexible working/ flexi–time schemes available.
