Mental Health Nurse - Inpatients (on)
Break into prison healthcare! HMYOI Feltham is a Young Offenders Institute for young people aged 15-18 and young adults aged 18-21. An opportunity has arisen for a passionate Mental Health Nurse to join our Inpatients team at the prison. You'll provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, managing the assessment of health needs; planning, delivery and evaluation of care, for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.

These range from reception health checks and regular GP services, to help with substance misuse, chronic or long-term conditions, podiatry, physiotherapy and optometry.
About the Job As a Mental Health Nurse at HMYOI Feltham, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, working with the team ensuring the delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence based patient centred nursing care. You’ll manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a valid NMC pin. We’ll want to see evidence of your continued professional development, and a real passion for taking your skills even further. It goes without saying that you’ll have a solid understanding of health and safety, along with exemplary record keeping skills. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, participating in a 24 hours 7 day week rota. The salary for this role is £24,500 - £32,000 - dependent on experience.
