The circumstances that bring people to prison are also complex and varied, our wellbeing approach adopts the premise no single factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care. About the role We’ll utilise the wellbeing model to put patient care and safety at the heart of everything we do through assessing prisoners across 5 domains of; physical and mental wellbeing, substance misuse, relationships and resettlement. The patient and clinician complete a wellbeing wheel assessment to set goals and outcomes in partnership. The patient will complete the assessment and any needs identified will be met by our fully integrated service delivery team. In this Staff Nurse job, the skills you will use may be similar to those you need working in Health promotion or A&E, alternatively you may be supporting people managing their mental health or substance misuse issues. You’ll carry out – and potentially develop – nurse-led clinics, reviewing patient histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences. But at the same time, you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best care possible.

As a Registered Nurse (Adult)/RGN with valid NMC registration, you’ll bring a good knowledge of clinical governance and experience of carrying out clinical audits. We’d love to see evidence of your continued professional development, and a real passion for taking your skills even further. It goes without saying that you’ll have a solid understanding of health and safety, along with exemplary record keeping skills. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, you’ll show plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, and a flexible approach to changing priorities in a fast paced environment. This Staff Nurse job is a full-time vacancy, working 37.5 hour per week but we would also consider part-time applications. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or call me on 01189 521 863 for more information. Please note that offers of employment are subject to Care UK Terms & Conditions and employment is subject to receipt of satisfactory references, enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.
