Registered Mental Health Nurse
We currently have opportunities for motivated recovery focussed, Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to join our brand new facility managed by Care UK and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's joint venture company, Recovery and Rehabilitation Partnership Ltd.
Our brand-new service in Crawley Road, Horsham will provide innovative recovery -based treatment for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. The state of the art building comprises of an 8 bed intensive rehabilitation unit and 16 individual bungalows built to the highest standards providing clients and staff with the very best living and working environment.
Our service philosophy places the service user at the centre of what we do; recognising that everyone’s journey is unique, therefore service users will take an active part in planning and reviewing their own recovery. Care UK offers a comprehensive training program for our nursing teams. We are growing quickly and can offer progression with the support of our “Develop Me” and “Managers of the Future” programs.
The main responsibility of this role is to provide clinical support and care to service users with complex and enduring mental health needs, by assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating their nursing care plans to ensure that they are fully supported using person-centred care approaches.
• Provide leadership and support for support staff and act as a champion for service users' safety and dignity • To maintain skills and knowledge and ensure that care is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available • To have a recovery focussed outlook • Ensure the ongoing safety of service users, residents, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes • Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used • Act as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice • To take charge of the unit regularly and, in the absence of the management team, accepting responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the unit • Responsible for compliance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act (2008) and the Mental Health Act (1983) as amended in 2007 • Responsible for and ensuring that, clinical audits are conducted within the prescribed timescales and complying with all recommendations from the Care Quality Commission, as well as formulating and completing Action plans • Ensuring that regular audits and reviews are carried out to ensure that the hospital complies fully with regulations • Ensuring that CQC, Governance, health and Safety, Infection Control standards and requirements are adhered to within the hospital at all times • Making sure that all issues raised by, POVA representatives, MAPPA, Police, Home Office etc are acted on according to need.
Skills & Experience
• Understand care planning processes and have experience of writing care plans • Experience of working with service users with various mental health needs • Good organisational skills • Good supervisory skills • Good communication skills both written and verbal • Ability to contribute to, monitor and implement changes that improvement service delivery and outcomes for residents • Ability to plan allocate and delegate work appropriately
