Registered Mental Health Nurse
We currently have exciting opportunities to join Avesbury House as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. This independent hospital is situated in Edmonton, North London and has 25 beds offering round the clock expert care. As the Registered Mental Health Nurse you will provide clinical support and care to service users with complex and enduring mental health needs, by assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating their nursing care plans to ensure that they are fully supported using a Recovery focused approach in a low secure setting. Overall responsibilities: • Provide leadership and support for recovery support staff and act as a champion for a service users recovery plan and their safety and dignity. • To maintain skills and knowledge and ensure that nursing support and care is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available. • Ensure the ongoing safety of service users, service users, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes. • Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used. • Act as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice. • To take charge of the unit regularly and, in the absence of the management team, accepting responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the unit. • To help maintain the security of the building and its environment.

Skills & Experience
We are ideally looking for an individual that can provide evidence of working in a recovery focused setting which has provided support and care to service users with a mental illness who are aiming for discharge to their own home, hostel or care home. We are also looking for evidence of promoting engagement into work, education or community based activities. • Good organisational skills • Good supervisory skills • Good communication skills both written and verbal • Ability to contribute to, monitor and implement changes that improvement service delivery and outcomes for service users • Ability to plan allocate and delegate work appropriately • Competent and experience in electronic report writing and record keeping • Competent and experienced in working collaboratively with service users to develop and track their recovery plan
• Qualified and trained Mental health Nurses • Must have completed their preceptorship or been qualified for more than 12 months
• Up to date knowledge of the MHA and MCA • Needs to be flexible in regards to shift patterns
