Job Description:
The Staff Nurse, working within the Urgent Care team, main responsibility will be to assess, plan, deliver and implement a high standard of nursing care, ensuring that the individual needs of the patient are responded to. The position will require effectively working within the team, supervising junior staff and deputising for senior staff when necessary, as well as independently.

The Urgent Care department is a walk-in service that offers Emergency Care for medical illnesses, disease and minor injuries. Their patients can be assured of being seen within 15 minutes and a complete initial assessment of the patient`s problem.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide the highest standards of quality holistic nursing care using evidence based practice.
-Undertake extended roles such as IV cannulation, phlebotomy, plastering and suturing
-Demonstrate compassion and empathy at all time.
-Work closely with the multidisciplinary team in order to provide the best possible experience for our patients.
-Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet the patient and their family`s needs
-Early recognition of clinical problems and report or take appropriate action
-Maintain accurate records
-Decontaminate equipment and ensuring it is in good working order

Skills & Experience:
-NMC Registered Nurse
-Triage skills
-Recognised course in plastering techniques desirable
-Extensive experience within an emergency nursing environment
-Evidence of continuing professional development linked to demonstrable competencies
-Skilled in Phlebotomy / Cannulation / Care of CVADs/ IV administration
-Patient assessment skills
