Peri-Ocular Cancer Nurse
Salary: Band 7: £30,764 - £40,558 pro rata
Part time post: 22.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Moorfields Eye Hospital Lid Oncology Service for a compassionate and caring nurse to provide specialist care, counselling, information and advice to patients with lid and orbital cancer. In this part time post the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting patients attending our dedicated lid oncology service, including maintaining continuity of patient care within the multidisciplinary team and between primary and secondary care while acting as a key worker for the patients in the lid oncology service.
Moorfields has provided expertise in ophthalmology for more than 200 years and continues to be at the forefront of new breakthroughs and development. The lid oncology service is a sub section of the Adnexal Service and the post holder will join the Adnexal multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standards of carefor our lid oncology patients. There are also opportunities to support research and audit projects in this specialty.
The successful candidate must have a first level degree, be a Registered Nurse level 1 (Adult) with a minimum of 3 years relevant, recent clinical and management experience at Band 6 or above. Applicants should have a post-registration qualification in oncology or be willing to work towards same. Experience in ophthalmology is desirable but not essential.
