We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to fill an established role in our Women and Children’s Division, Sunshine Hospital who shares the values of Western Health: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Empathy and Safety.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced NNP to become an active member in our strong and experienced multidisciplinary team.

Our High Dependency Level 2 Nursery is located in an innovative Pod Design Unit of 26 beds of which 6 are high dependency. The new unit is bright and spacious with fantastic facilities for parents to room in with their baby close to discharge promoting family centered care. At Special Care Nursery (SCN) we provide Respiratory support such as CPAP and have the facilities to Ventilate prior to transfer to a level 3 hospital. We have approximately 950 admissions per year.

As part of the senior neonatal team you will work across nursing, midwifery and medical boundaries in SCN, Maternity and Birthing Suite.

You will demonstrate leadership in providing expert care, contributing to education, research, audit and practice development and be educated to Masters level or equivalent.

It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a commitment to team work and ongoing professional development. The Neonatal Practitioner is an integral member of the clinical team, assisting the Unit Manager in the course of their duties to ensure effective operation of the clinical environment to achieve a high quality of Neonatal care and foster the development of cooperative professional relationships with the multidisciplinary health care team.
