Based: Acute Inpatient Services
Salary: £35,159- £ 46,837 pa inc
This is mental health nursing at its most acute. For a career minded individual, this affords the successful applicant the opportunity to show leadership and management skills in a tough working environment.
You will have specific responsibility for managing the day to day functioning of the ward, providing a dynamic leadership role for the ward team. At all times you will need to ensure that the needs of service users are at the centre of the ward philosophy.
You will need to be a Registered Mental Health Nurse or have other professional qualification such as Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Social Work as well as holding a Mentorship Qualification such as Slice Achieved. You must also be HCPC registered.
Experience of managing other staff will be vital along with previous work within an MDT and you will need at least 5 years post registration experience (at least 2 years at a F-grade/Band 6 or above) and a minimum of 3 years in an acute/PICU inpatient setting. You must also have wide ranging experience of the care of mentally ill people in an acute setting.
