CLINICAL NURSE MANAGERS

JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for leading and demonstrating the provision of safe, patient and family focused quality care on his/her unit/clinic, 24-hours a day. The Clinical Nurse Manager is a key member of the interprofessional team and ensures that standards for nursing care are adhered to at the unit/clinic level.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Serves as a professional and role model for staff and is an advocate for patients and their families demonstrating behaviours consistent with the organizational/education competency framework, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provides supervision and guidance to staff ensuring that all care is provided in accordance with Divisional Core Standards of Nursing Care and established policies and procedures.
  • Supports the retention of all staff by creating a healthy work environment that facilitates teamwork, and treats colleagues, patients/families and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.  Ensures relevant information is communicated to all staff effectively and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

•      Masters degree in Nursing, in a Healthcare related field, or an MBA
•      Registered Nurse (3 year program)
•      Current nursing licensure
•      At least 7 years progressive management experience within an acute care academic hospital setting

CLINICAL NURSE LEADERS

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for leading and demonstrating the provision of safe, patient and family focused quality care and providing clinical supervision to the nursing team.

STAFF NURSES

JOB SUMMARY:

Staff Nurses are professionally accountable to the Clinical Nurse Manager and report directly to the Clinical Nurse Leader. The Staff Nurse participates in the supervision and teaching of more junior and new members of staff within the unit.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered Nurse (from a training program of at least 3 academic years)
  • Hold a Diploma Level or Bachelor’s Degree from the UK
  • At least 4 years nursing experience, with at least 2 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Current Nursing Licence from  the UK

PRIMARY & HOME CARE NURSES

 JOB SUMMARY:

To provide in-home healthcare, support and education for women and newborns in the first ten days following discharge with the first visit/contact occurring within 24 hours and subsequent visits as required. These will include assessment, education and support of Well mother assessment, Well newborn assessment, Normal behaviour of the newborn, Lactation/Infant feeding assessment, Depression screening and Family Coping.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered Nurse (from a training program of at least 3 academic years)
  • Current Nursing Licence from the UK
  • At least 2 years nursing experience in obstetric or paediatric home care nursing
