We are Recovery and Rehabilitation Limited, a ground breaking joint venture between Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Care UK that works to transform the lives of people who have mental health conditions. This is the first time that a NHS Mental Health Foundation Trust and an independent sector provider of mental health and social care services have combined their considerable experience and expertise in this way to create an innovative mental health recovery service. Our brand-new service in Crawley Road, Horsham is due to open in June, and will provide innovative recovery -based treatment for people with severe and enduring mental health problems. The state of the art building comprises of an 8 bed intensive rehabilitation unit and 16 individual bungalows built to the highest standards providing clients and staff with the very best living and working environment. Our service philosophy places the service user at the centre of what we do; recognising that everyone’s journey is unique, therefore service users will take an active part in planning and reviewing their own recovery. We are looking to appoint a qualified Occupational Therapist to work with our service users to provide assessment and treatment within the service.
• The post holder will be responsible for the provision of specialist interventions and assessments using evidence based / client centred practice, underpinned by Mental Health best practice and principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and treatment programs. To ensure a holistic approach, using person centred and psycho social interventions • Under the Unit Manager, they will manage and in line with the Multi-Disciplinary Team, assess and treat a defined specialist caseload of adults with complex needs associated with their mental health, using evidence-based practice and client-based principles. In addition they will evaluate interventions in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Occupational Therapy offered. • The post holder will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, may be part of clinical audit and undertake research. They will also be expected to maintain accurate clinical records associated with Occupational Therapy interventions and to ensure correct benefits/allowances are in place.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience of working within a mental health setting providing OT support to service users with a variety of different mental needs is essential.
Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy - Essential HPC Registration - Essential
