At Care UK, You’ll receive a full induction to the site, ongoing support and a motivational Manager to help you fulfil your role and keep you on track for success and progression. Based at HMP Brixton, you work within a challenging and evolving environment. Holding 800 sentenced offenders, Brixton prison is a category C training establishment and offers real opportunity for rehabilitation, such as the Clink Restaurant. The restaurant has recently opened to the public following the success from the TV series 'Gordon Behind Bars' in 2012.
You will contribute to the positive and aspirational workings of the nursing team by promoting an agenda of recovery from the dependence on drugs and/or alcohol within the client group. Your role will involve the management of clinical detoxification programmes and working with colleagues to assess and manage risk of individuals at reception and throughout their case management.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the this role you will have :- • Exposure to substance misuse / IDTS / DART services • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills • Demonstrable critical thinking skills in clinical decision making • Experience of key-working and care planning • Willing to undertake education/courses relevant to area of practice and service development • Evidence of updating practice and continued professional development • Understanding of clinical governance and its relevance to delivering Health Care in a Prison setting
• 1st Level RGN or RMN • Current NMC Registration • Post registration qualification in the nursing care, assessment and treatment of substance misuse clients
