Position – Diabetes Specialist Nurse Advisor
Location – North West
Salary – Up to £35k plus car, private healthcare, pension etc

Our client is currently seeking a Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join its dynamic, expanding team of Nurse Advisors, with a remit to offer practical, knowledge-based education to assistance to people with diabetes whilst at the same time training other healthcare professionals in the provision of diabetic support.
Act as the clinical expert and professional resource for patients their carers and the multi-professional team.
Responsible for leading, managing and developing a specialist clinical service and team.
Responsible for leading the direction of the specialist nursing service to both support and complement the Directorates business plans.
Directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management of patients within the service/speciality.
Ensure the delivery of the highest quality, clinical effective care, and patient experience, prioritising and utilising research and in collaboration with colleagues in everyday practice.
Provide direction and clinical leadership, working in partnership with the specialist team and multi professional team to enhance standards and best practice of care across the service.
Promote and lead the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for staff within the speciality.
A minimum of 50% of time must be spent in clinical practice.
PATIENT CARE, CLINICAL EXPERTISE AND CASE MANAGEMENT
Manage a caseload of patients, as appropriate within the speciality, delivering individualised and personalised direct patient care.
Provide clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across the whole spectrum of the service.
Adopt a range of the Chief Nursing Officer 10 key roles appropriate to client group in order to improve and streamline patient care and patient experience.
Demonstrate in depth specialist knowledge, skills and innovative practice in the specialist area, leading the delivery of appropriate evidence based care, and advanced practice.
Support, assist and encourage the multi-disciplinary team in resolving complex patient problems, by the provision of new and innovative models of case management.
Lead the specialist nursing contribution to the service, in the delivery of high standards of patient care.
Demonstrate appropriate expert practice and specialist advice in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. This will necessitate high levels of autonomy and advocacy.
