Senior Fertility Nurse, Ovum Donation

The role will be working in the heart of Chelsea, within our state of the art leading fertility clinic. There is a large team which consists of doctors, nurses, embryologists, ultrasonographers and administrative staff within the Assisted Conception team.

The post holder for this role will support the Sister to ensure the smooth running of the Ovum Donation programme within the Clinic. The role will be essential for ensuring the welfare of couples undergoing fertility treatments and will be responsible for implementing and monitoring patient treatment cycles. In addition, the post holder will be required to maintain a high standard of clinical practice and clinical care.
This is a Full Time (37.5 hours per week), 12 month fixed term contract (Maternity Cover). With hours typically worked between 8am and 6pm in shift patterns, Monday - Friday, up to 2 Saturday s a month and occasional Sundays.
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct liaison with Consultants and other department
Assess, plan and deliver fertility treatments and be responsible for implementing and monitoring patient treatment cycle
Provide support and act as a role model for more junior staff
Maintain effective communication channels between patients, staff and satellite services
Prioritise workloads and direct staff accordingly
Carry out all nursing duties as required
Skills & Experience
RGN, NMC registered with PIN
Substantial recent experience in an IVF setting/Fertility Clinic
An understanding of the HFEA code of practise
Confident communicator with high levels of written and spoken English
Previous supervisory/leadership experience and associated skills would be advantageous
Demonstrable ability to be proactive and make decisions
Ability to deal with day to day staffing issues in absence of Sister
