Staff Nurse, General Paediatrics and Neurological Rehabilitation Known the world over for its clinical excellence, this hospital is the only private hospital in London entirely dedicated to women and children. The Paediatric department has dramatically grown over the past few years and there are now 45 inpatient beds + 11 day case treatment areas. All areas and are equipped with the latest technology to provide high quality care to paediatric patients. The inpatient wards care for medical, surgical and neurorehabilition patients. There is also a 10 bedded Paediatric Intensive Care Unit which reflects the acuity of the patients that are admitted to the hospital. The patient to nursing ratio depends on the nursing/medical needs of the patient. The maximum ratio is strictly 1 nurse to 4 patients. Job Description The Staff Nurse will be responsible and accountable for the assessment of required care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of holistic care for children on the Neurological-Rehabilitation ward. The Staff Nurse will promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research, evidence based practice and the developmental of additional clinical skills. Duties and Responsibilities To plan and provide an exceptional level of patient care, including administering drugs through intravenous routes To act as a role model for nursing To support students and junior nurses in their professional development, creating a supportive atmosphere for learning To teach parents the clinical skills they need to care for their child To ensure that all patient records are accurate and within the required time frames Skills & Experience NMC Registered with a valid RN8/RNC (or equivalent) Basic/Intermediate Paediatric Life Support Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits IV and gastronomy competent Understanding of Safeguarding issues Experience working as a children`s nurse Tracheostomy trained Knowledge and experience as a Children`s Nurse working within a Neurological-Rehabilitation Nursing environment desirable About the Individual The successful candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient centred care demonstrating an understanding of cross cultural differences.
