Theatre team leaders x 6 posts (BAND 6)
We are looking for theatre team leaders to join our teams across Northumberland and North Tyneside and work from our hospital theatre departments in Hexham, North Tyneside, Wansbeck, Alnwick and Berwick. These are full time permanent positions.
We have 23 theatres across our Trust and we are opening a state of the art Emergency care Centre in 2015 which will incorporate 6 new theatres.
Applications are invited for motivated and enthusiastic practitioners who have the imagination and drive to contribute to these exciting new developments within the Trust.
There are a number of posts which would suit experienced applicants in all theatre disciplines. You should be:
· 1st or 2nd level live NMC Registered General Nurse or HPC registered Operating Department Practitioner.
· Hold a diploma or in-depth experience and knowledge within the perioperative environment.
· Show evidence of further specialist knowledge/ education including demonstration of CPD in relevant area
· Have teaching and assessing experience
· Have mentorship skills
Good communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to work as part of a team are also necessary.
Applicants will be given the opportunity to rotate through the different theatre areas to expand and develop their skills.
There will be an expectation that the successful candidates will participate in the on call rota, both weekday and weekend shifts and night duty as required.
This is an ideal development opportunity for staff wishing to gain further experience in this area.
Applicants must have the ability to meet the transport requirements of the post.
Our brand new state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington is currently under construction and will open in 2015. This hospital will be dedicated to providing services seven days a week to those people who are very sick with a sudden or prolonged illness.
The post you are applying for may be based at the new Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington when this opens in 2015 however until the completion of the hospital you will be based at Trustwide.
The post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
