We are looking for skilled theatre nurses to join our teams across Northumberland and North Tyneside and work from our hospital theatre departments in Hexham, North Tyneside, Wansbeck, Alnwick and Berwick.
We have 23 theatres across our Trust and we are opening a state of the art Emergency care Centre in 2015 which will incorporate 6 new theatres.
These are all full time, permanent positions. There are a number of posts which would suit both newly qualified and experienced applicants. ODP/nurse students approaching the end of their training are encouraged to apply.
You should be 1st or 2nd level live NMC Registered General Nurse or HPC registered Operating Department Practitioner.
Applicants will be given the opportunity to rotate through the different theatre areas to expand and develop their skills.
A period of preceptorship will be given to all newly qualified staff. Following the preceptorship period there will be an expectation that the successful candidates will participate in the on call rota, both weekday and weekend shifts and night duty as required.

Good communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to work as part of a team are also necessary.
This is an ideal development opportunity for staff wishing to gain further experience in this area.

Our brand new state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington is currently under construction and will open in 2015. This hospital will be dedicated to providing services seven days a week to those people who are very sick with a sudden or prolonged illness.
The post you are applying for may be based at the new Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington when this opens in 2015 however until the completion of the hospital you will be based Trustwide.
The post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
