Theatre team managers x 2 posts (BAND 7)
The post you are applying for may be based at the new Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington when this opens in We require 2 enthusiastic, motivated senior theatre nurses / operating department practitioners to join our teams within the theatre department at Wansbeck General Hospital in Northumberland. These are both full time, permanent positions with on call commitments:
- Post 1 - to manage elective orthopaedic surgery
- Post 2 - to assist in the management of general surgery, plastics, gynaecology and obstetric surgery.
We have 9 operating theatres at Wansbeck General Hospital which are part of 23 theatres trustwide. In 2015 we are opening a state of the art Emergency Care Centre in Cramlington which will incorporate 6 theatres.
The expectation of this senior post will be to lead, manage and motivate an expanding team within our Trust. You should be 1st or 2nd level live NMC Registered General Nurse or HPC registered Operating Department Practitioner.
Good communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to lead a team are necessary.
Driving license is essential to both posts.
- 1st Level live NMC Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification
- Degree or extensive in-depth experience and knowledge in named specialty.
- Recognised post graduate theatre/anaesthetic qualification
- Recognised teaching qualification
Our brand new state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington is currently under construction and will open in 2015. This hospital will be dedicated to providing services seven days a week to those people who are very sick with a sudden or prolonged illness.
2015 however until the completion of the hospital you will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital. The postholder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.
The post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
