About the role
Due to our ongoing recruitment drive (we need to grow to a c700 strong workforce by 2015!!) we are looking for you to join us to become a DWP accredited Disability Assessor that will support the new PIP legislation means you will be joining Capita at a really exciting time…
Our growing team of qualified Nurses, Occupational Therapists (OT), Physiotherapist, Paramedics and Nurse Assessors are part of an empathetic, caring environment focusing on the PIP’s claimant’s journey, ensuring we offer a personal yet objective assessment.
We have immediate vacancies available for Nurses, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists! Days and Evening hours to suit YOUR lifestyle…
We are looking for our Nurses / OT / Paramedics / Physio’s to embark upon a new and exciting challenge with Capita utilizing your current clinical knowledge and natural skills of empathy, listening and observation with Claimants of the PIP benefit. This is similar to a functional assessment and you will be assessing how disabilities or impairments have an impact on activities of daily living. As a number of Claimants prefer to be assessed at home, the role will be community based and you will get to see up c4 claimants per day… this is where Capita Health and wellbeing – and you – come in.

What’s in it for you?
Are you a qualified Nurse, Health care professional, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Nurse Assessor or Physiotherapist?

If you’re looking for contractual work that’s regular, but flexible, and yet still affords you your independence – we have a variety of self-employed contract Disability Assessor roles for dedicated Nurses and healthcare professionals across the UK. Upon starting with us, you will undertake a thorough 2 week training program which will take you through both clinical and practical modules – this is paid at £100 per day! This will build on your experience and equip you with the new skills essential for the role. The training has been designed for your convenience, with a combination of office/home based training to fit around your current commitments whilst preparing you to be a fully trained accredited Disability Assessor.

Essential Experience/Skills
Who we’re looking for

What we need from you is a minimum commitment of two days per week, and you can give us heads up by telling us your availability in advance for the coming 3 months… Also, and this is really important...  You must have at least two years’ post-registration experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT), Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Nurse or Doctor with a licence to practice and must be registered with the NMC / HCPC with a valid PIN. You must also have the ability to write comprehensive reports using a laptop and various IT systems and have strong communication, with the sensitivity required when meeting claimant.

Desired Experience/Skills
Just as important, however, will be the empathy, respect and sensitivity that will help you inspire confidence and trust in everyone you assess.
