Young Person's Nurse - North Yorkshire
Young Person`s Nurse £22 - £25 per hour North Yorkshire Experienced nurse required for full-time maternity cover for a service delivering a specialist service to young people in North Yorkshire. This new and innovative specialist service helps young people who are engaged in risk taking behaviour to make sustainable lifestyle changes to improve their long term health, resilience and emotional well-being. The position will be from February 2014 until January 2015 as maternity cover working 37 hours per week. You will be expected to work flexibly across the North Yorkshire region when required to meet service demand and provide interim cover for other staff members. You will operate out of a youth support centre within a specified team so it is essential that you are a car driver. As well as delivering workshops, engaging in group work and holding 1:1 sessions you will be responsible for: - Conducting assessments - Case management - Delivering specialist information and advice - Delivering specialist harm reduction interventions - Creating collaborative care plans with client - Delivering family interventions - Delivering health contraception interventions - Prescribing contraception - Carrying out hepatitis screening and vaccinations You must be an NMC registered nurse either as an RCN/RGN/RMN and have direct experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting within a community based environment and working with vulnerable young people in a face-to-face setting. As you will be prescribing contraception, you will be need to be a qualified nurse prescriber. Ideally you will also hold additional qualifications in contraception and sexual health, social work, community youth work or counselling.
