We are currently looking for an enthusiastic clinical or forensic psychologist (experienced or newly qualified) with an interest in learning disability to join our locked rehabilitation ward in the Men`s Service.

You will be an HCPC registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist looking for an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the exiting practice of clinical forensic psychology.

Our goal is to deliver effective and evidenced based interventions that improve mental health and reduce risk. You will have the opportunity to apply specialist psychological skills in the assessment, formulation and treatment of learning disability in combination with the application of forensic models to treat and manage risk.

As a ward psychologist you will apply skills and expertise in clinical and risk assessments, collaboratively develop formulations; plan, sequence and deliver group or individual psychological interventions and consult to the MDT to enable our Service Users to improve their mental health, manage their risks and progress to greater independence.

St Andrews has an excellent record of providing opportunities for research, training and continuing professional development.  You will be encouraged and supported to develop special interests in areas such as learning disability, ASD, psychosis, personality disorder, substance misuse, sexual or violent offending treatment and specialist therapeutic skills in CBT, Behavioural Interventions and DBT. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the assessment and treatment of service users in other pathways of care in the Men`s Service.

We encourage motivated and interested psychologists to contact us to discuss this post, and to come and visit us to learn more about working at St Andrew`s.

Applying via this website will take you to the vacancy on the St Andrew's Healthcare website. You will need to complete our online application form and attach your CV in order to be considered for this role.
