BMI Healthcare has a reputation based on 30 years of clinical excellence and commitment to our patients and staff. Our mission is to deliver an exceptional experience for the patients treated in our 69 hospitals in the UK – and to do that, we need exceptional people.
We are now launching our successful Theatre Practitioner development course nationally and are looking for several registered nurses either newly or recently qualified who would like to pursue a career within Theatres.
Opportunities are available across various locations throughout the UK.
The training programme is a 12 week introduction into working in Theatres. We will have 3 hubs throughout the UK for the delivery of the induction into becoming a successful Theatre Practitioner, (one in Glasgow at Ross Hall Hospital, one in Birmingham at The Priory Hospital where you would be expected to be able to attend this training which may be away from your hospital base for weeks 1, 2 and 6, of the 12 week programme. So you must be prepared to travel to one of these sites to undertake the important classroom learning, we will support your travel and accommodation costs for the duration of these three weeks.
Following the initial two weeks of classroom learning you will then join your hospital team to complete your circulating competencies. You will return to the learning hub for a week, prior to returning to your base hospital to undertake scrub practitioner competencies. After the 12 weeks you should have the necessary skills to be able to circulate confidently and scrub for a variety of surgical cases which will then allow your on-going development to progress within your base hospital Theatre Department.
You need to be qualified and registered with the NMC. It’s also really important that you’re not travel shy and are passionate about starting your career in Theatre. In return you’ll receive excellent training, support, guidance and will receive all the help that you need to launch your career in Theatre.
If this sounds like you, then please complete our brief online application form and we will be in touch. Interviews will take place by mid January and the programme will commence on 17th March 2014.
