Further information

The Medway Macmillan Cancer Care Unit opened on the Medway Maritime Hospital site in September 2009.

This unit was funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and local residents, businesses and groups, in conjunction with Medway NHS Foundation Trust. The purpose built unit consists of Lawrence Ward, Galton Day Unit, a high specification video conferencing seminar room, a Macmillan Information Centre and a central garden.

Lawrence Ward, is a 19 bed inpatient facility consisting of 13 single rooms and two 3 bedded bays, where haematology and oncology patients can be cared for in a bright airy environment. Individuals with a haematological malignancy are under the care of the three permanent Consultant Haematologists.

Good communication skills, innovation and clinical experience are needed to work with the team of nurses who are caring for the patients receiving chemotherapy.

We are looking for someone to join the team who will share the passion for excellence and contribute to the patient’s overall care pathway.
An interest in continued learning is an integral component of the unit philosophy and therefore the candidate for this post must have evidence of/or the desire to undertake the training for Administration of Chemotherapy.
