Further information

A specialist children's hospital in London, that largely only accepts specialist referrals from other hospitals and community services, is seaching for Paediatric Staff Nurses to work on their Endocrine and Metabolic Ward. This ward is for children and young people with rare and serious Endocrine and Metabolic conditions. For Endocrinology conditions, this includes congenital adrenal hyperplasia, diabetes insipidus, Cushings Disease and hypothyroidism. The unit is also a specialist centre for children with congenital hyperinsulinism, where the body produces too much of the hormone insulin and causes low blood sugar levels. For Metabolic Medicine conditions, this includes organic acidaemias like methylmalonic acidaemia (MMA), proprionic acidaemia (PA) and maple syrup urine disease (MSUD); urea cycle disorders like ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency (OTC) and argininosuccinic aciduria (ASA); lysosomal storage disorders like Pompés and Gauchers; and mitochondrial disorders. Because of the nature of these conditions, the patients on this ward can have long stays in hospital and often need several different tests or procedures. We are looking for nurses with a passion for this specialty or those who are keen to develop their skills in this complex and exciting field. Requirements: - NMC registered - 1 year of paediatrics experience - Friendly nature, good communication skills, caring personality To apply please contact Brian at HCL Permanent on 02078618950 (extension 1573) or email
