Following the recent appointment of Chief Inspectors of Hospitals, Adult Social Care and General Practice, the Care Quality Commission now wishes to recruit a number of Deputy Chief Inspectors. Reporting to, and deputising for, the Chief Inspectors, the Deputy Chief Inspectors will champion the interests of patients and make critical judgments about the quality of care provided.
Working with the Chief Inspectors, the Deputy Chief Inspectors will share responsibility for assessing and judging how well providers put the quality of care at the heart of everything that they do, serving and protecting the interests of people that use the services they provide. Each Deputy Chief Inspector will lead multidisciplinary teams carrying out inspections on both a scheduled and ad hoc basis, and will provide assurance that all institutions providing care are meeting the fundamental standards.
The Deputy Chief Inspectors will be respected senior leaders able to inspire the trust and confidence of the public, and have credibility with key stakeholders. Most of all, the Deputy Chief Inspectors must have a reputation for putting the interests of patients first, and be capable of providing an honest and independent assessment of how well health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high quality care.
