RAIGMORE HOSPITAL, INVERNESS
LEAD NURSE – BAND 8C
Full Time, Permanent
Salary Scale £54,454 - £67,134 per annum
Are you a Senior Nurse ready to take the next step in your career?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual, who will not only be accountable for the provision of professional leadership to all Raigmore Hospital Nursing and Midwifery staff, but also be capable of providing leadership at the highest level in relation to the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Programme on the Raigmore Hospital site.
Based in the City of Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, Raigmore is the flagship Hospital of NHS Highland. With 480 beds, the Hospital covers all specialties and is a training hospital for nursing, medical and AHP staff in association with Stirling, Aberdeen and Dundee Universities. It is a Regional Cancer Centre and is sited on a campus along with the innovative Centre for Health Science. Outreach services are provided from this District General Hospital in Inverness to many sites across Northern Highlands and to both the Western Isles and Orkney.
In recent years Raigmore and NHS Highland have demonstrated a significant achievement in relation to the provision of patient care. Most notable amongst our achievements is our participation in the Scottish Patient Safety Programme and our achievement of a 4.0 rating on the Institute for Health Improvement (IHI) Scale. Now, the Board is aiming to do even better in the assessment, and has targeted a 4.5 rating – an achievement unprecedented in Scotland.
When the Scottish Patient Safety Programme (SPSP) was launched five years ago it set a target of reducing mortality rates by 15%. By rigorously following the safety programme’s demanding improvement methodology, NHS Highland has surpassed that target ahead of schedule, with Raigmore’s Hospital’s mortality rate reduction now standing at 18.9%. Are you the person to help NHS Highland achieve its target of being the top Health Board in the country in a national assessment of patient safety standards? Do you have outstanding leadership skills and a genuine flair for embedding a culture of continuous improvement and delivering results? If so, we want to hear from you.
