We are looking to recruit Registered Nurses who have an acute hospital background who would like to work in conjunction with leading London NHS Trust but caring for patients in their own home. The patient turnover will be rapid as you the average length of patient care is between 2 – 7 days.
A varied acute nursing background is essential as are excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with the hospital staff at the time of transferring the clinical and nursing care of the patient from the hospital to the community in addition to liaising with the community nursing team within the Primary Care Trust (if required) at the time the patient is fully ready to be discharged.
As the patient is still requiring acute nursing and medical treatment it would be desirable for successful candidates to be able to cannulate and take blood, however if you are not competent in 1 or both of these areas but you have a background knowledge and/or minimal exposure they are happy to offer refresher training in the induction.
