Research Nurse

HIV and Infections Group, Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit, London

Salary in range of £30,124 - £32,280 p.a. inclusive of London Weighting (MRC Band 4)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experience and motivated research nurse to assist in the implementation of a new high profile research study within the MRC CTU – the ‘Adolescents and Adults Living with Perinatal HIV’ cohort (AALPHI).  You will be responsible for recruiting and following-up patients in the study, and may contribute to its scientific agenda.  You will work closely with two existing senior research nurses on the study, as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team.  An essential requirement for the job is some previous experience recruiting patients into clinical or epidemiological studies.

You will possess the following attributes:
•    Some clinical experience working in HIV
•    Excellent oral communication skills
•    Ability to produce clear and well written documentation
•    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

The post will be for 12 months maternity cover, with a possibility of extension (subject to further funding).  You will be based in Central London, but will be expected to travel regularly across the South-East of England, and the UK on occasion.  Evening work will be required.

Salary includes London Weighting and Central London Supplement, and depends on qualifications and previous experience.  Benefits include 30 days annual leave days per year, a contributory pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
