An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to play a pivotal role in the Hospital’s two new state of the art high tech catheterisation labs which are due to open in May 2013.

You will have a proven track record of leadership within a cardiac catheterisation lab environment and will take the lead in the recruitment and development of the Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) centre. You will be clinically sound with up-to-date knowledge and skills within this specialist environment.

You will work closely with the Cardiac team and will provide expert leadership to the nursing team whilst also contributing to the wider multidisciplinary team which includes Physiologists, Radiographers, Medical colleagues and Administrative staff. Reporting to the Head Matron for Specialty Medicine you will work closely with other Band 7 Ward Matrons and Clinical Nurse Specialists (ACS, Cardiac Rehab and Heart failure teams) in the Cardiology Department and the Business Unit.

As a highly visible leader you will need to prioritise the management and clinical priorities of the service ensuring the smooth running of the PCI Centre. Patient experience is extremely important to the cardiology team so you will need to ensure that your team delivers high quality, safe and effective care at all times.

You will have full support from the Head Matron and Lead Cardiac Physiologist in developing this service.

You will be required to work 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
