Further information

NHS Wakefield CCG is a new Clinical Commissioning Group, working towards Authorisation as a statutory body under the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The Act puts local GPs and healthcare professionals at the forefront of commissioning services for local people and NHS Wakefield CCG is a truly clinically-led organisation that has a passion for improving health services and the health of its local population.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to sit on our governing body who will inspire public confidence and who has the right drive and expertise to help us shape and develop the emerging CCG as it becomes fully established and authorised as a statutory body. This is a key appointment to support the CCG in achieving authorisation and in achieving its vision.

We are looking for an experienced, qualified registered nurse who is innovative and forward thinking. We can offer an exceptional opportunity as the NHS Wakefield CCG Nurse Board Member to put your talents to use by making a positive difference to the lives of people in Wakefield. As well as sharing responsibility with the other members for all aspects of the CCG governing body business, as a registered nurse on the governing body, you will bring a broader view, from your perspective as a registered nurse, on health and care issues to underpin the work of the CCG especially the contribution of nursing to patient care, quality and safety.

This is a Designate appointment which will be formalised once the Clinical Commissioning Group is established and authorised by the NHS Commissioning Board.

The minimum time commitment is at least 2.5 days per month. This time commitment will be subject to review following authorisation. Please note applications cannot be accepted from our member practices.

If you have gained senior or Board level experience in the private, public or voluntary sectors we would be delighted to hear from you. You will need to demonstrate a range of competencies required to contribute effectively at Board level including strategic thinking, team working and excellent communication skills.
