Role: Healthcare Nurse/Midwife Advisor
Location: Redhill Surrey
Package: Equivalent to Band 6 NHS Pay scale (£25,472 - £34,189).
JP Recruit is currently working on behalf of a private Insurance company based in Surrey which currently has a vacancy for a Healthcare Nurse/Midwifery Advisor role.
The role involves reporting to one of the Healthcare Managers, as a Healthcare Nurse/Midwifery Advisor you will receive inbound telephone call from the public who have a variety of pregnancy issues & health related issues. You will be able to answer all queries, providing expert advice based on your professional experience and our agreed protocols. It’s important that you are able to gather suitable information, which is research-based, factual and up to date.
You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills. You will have the ability to understand and use our IT programmes and applications, ensuring that customers receive a seamless service, which exceeds their expectations. It’s also vital that you meet the standard response times, complete accurate case notes and prepare any relevant letters and factsheets to send out in the mail.
To qualify for this role you must be a dual qualified Registered Midwife and Registered General Nurse with at least three years’ post-qualification experience. A background in A&E and assessing patients with undiagnosed problems would be beneficial but not essential.

Essential criteria
§ Professional qualification: Registered Midwife
§ Professional qualification: Registered Nurse
§ Professional qualification with a minimum of 3 years post registration/qualification experience.
§ Evidence of current registration with the appropriate professional body, e.g., Nurses and Midwives with NMC (United Kingdom Central Council),
§ Excellent communication, customer service, organisational and time management skills
§ Appropriate qualifications / accreditations (where necessary)
§ Excellent willingness to take initiative to solve problems
§ The ability to work under pressure and to customer deadlines
§ To be a team worker; flexibility
§ The ability to get things done / deliver results to agreed customer standards
§ Keyboard skills: to work in an office-based communication centre
Desirable criteria
§ Experience of working in general / health / insurance assistance markets or in the Pharmaceutical industry.
§ Previous experience of a call centre environment / telephone based work
§ Competency with and ability to use effectively standard software packages, including Word and Excel
§ Active interest in Information Technology
§ Computer literacy
Working Hours & Salary
- 35 hours per week
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Shifts cover between: 07.00 – 22.00 with some night shifts required 22.00 – 07.00 (working patterns are currently under review)
- Band 6 of the NHS Agenda for Change (scale dependent on knowledge and experience)
