An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Cardiology Department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for a dynamic, experienced RGN to work with our two Electrophysiology Consultants and their team in this rapidly expanding area of cardiac care. The post involves providing support and advice to patients with variety of cardiac arrhythmias and the successful candidate will also be trained to carry out other specific cardiac investigations such as stress perfusion scans and tilt table testing.
Aberdeen is a large city, based in the North East of Scotland, well connected to the rest of the UK and beyond by train/bus and air links. Aberdeen is a cosmopolitan city with many local amenities and activities. It is located on the coast and has much to offer as a place to live. Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a large teaching hospital with close links to both Aberdeen University and Robert Gordon University. The Cardiology Department is well established and highly regarded as a local and tertiary centre for Cardiology and Electrophysiology. The department provides care for the Grampian population and patients from Orkney and Shetland.
Applicants should have first level registration, be able to work autonomously, demonstrate excellent communication skills and manage their own caseload comprising both inpatients and outpatients. Ideally candidates should have a background in Cardiology nursing but candidates who can show transferrable skills which meet the demands of this post may also be considered.
Although this post is worked over 5 days, on occasion the postholder may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
