JP Recruit is currently working exclusively on behalf of its highly reputable client to recruit Paediatric Nurses for permanent roles to join a new dynamic team within a new, state-of-the-art private hospital in Reading, which recently opened in August 2012.
This stunning new 50-bed hospital, with 5 theatres and an endoscopy suite, will provide a wide range of planned operations, outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and day case procedures for patients in luxurious surroundings. The Inpatient Ward consists of 30 beds and the Day Surgery Ward consists of 20 beds. Procedures will be offered across numerous specialities, including orthopaedics, general medicine, urology, gynaecology, neurology, ENT, general surgery, ophthalmics, paediatrics, cardiology, plastics/cosmetics and bariatrics.
The hospital performs a variety of paediatric procedures from age 3 and upwards. The various specialities including ENT and Orthopaedics.
You may be routinely assigned to our Inpatient, Outpatient or Day Unit. However all staff nurses will cover a wide range of duties throughout the hospital, as required by our patients. You will be part of the paediatric team and therefore will be required to working clinically within the ward area, outpatient and pre-assessment to support the paediatric patient surgical journey.
Although the role predominantly covers paediatric care and this is the priority, you may be requested to assist with the care of adult patient in the ward area. You will never be asked to perform duties outside of your scope of practice.
As an experienced Paediatric Nurse you should have the ability to promote family-centered care, establish good relationships with children and their families and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
To qualify for this role, you must be an NMC Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN), preferably with.18 months' paediatric experience with a proven background/interest working on a Paediatric surgical/day surgery ward. The ideal candidates will have PALS training. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as are a calm and caring attitude and a flexible approach to work and working hours. A good working knowledge of several surgical specialities would be advantageous.
