Further information

This is nursing with a voice. With real autonomy. With more than the usual levels of professional respect. Join the Metropolitan Police Service as a Custody Nurse and you will be the on-site medical expert for your custody suite.

Working at the heart of a diverse and close-knit team – including PCs, Desk Sergeants and Designated Detention Officers, among others – you will provide medical assessments and advice regarding detainees, and get involved in elements of forensics.

Often you will be able to treat detainees on the spot, sometimes they will need to be sent to A&E – whatever the situation, this will be your call. A call that will be respected by colleagues who will value your proven expertise.

If you’re looking for a safe, secure, hugely well supported nursing role, please visit and apply by 1 February 2013 or ring 0845 155 6360 to book a place at one of our recruitment events, quoting ref 165/12
