Premiere People International Healthcare ,based in the UK, are recruiting  for our esteemed client, based in Doha,  Qatar. Scheduled to open in early 2013, a State of the Art Medical and Research Centre will be the Middle East's first academic medical centre designed to the best international standards. Currently in the project-planning phase, the Centre will be a 400 bed specialist Obstetrics and Paediatrics research hospital,  that will provide world class, patient-focused, clinical services for women and children, medical education, and biomedical research in an ultra-modern, all-digital facility.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Chief of Paediatrics, the Director Children’s Nursing Services has a pivotal role in co-ordination and management of activities and resources of inpatient and outpatient clinical services for children. The Director Children’s Nursing Services will work as a key member of the hospital’s nursing management team and will assume 24 hour accountability for overall management and delivery of quality nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Director Children’s Nursing Services is accountable to the Clinical Chief Paediatrics to ensure that the standards for nursing care and services are adhered to in the Paediatric areas.

Children's Services will encompass more than 282 inpatient beds including 49 ER patient spaces over 15 wards and units.

The Director's direct reports will include Managers of:

  • Child Life Services
  • General Medical Paediatrics
  • General Surgical Paediatrics
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Units I & II
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit III
  • Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
  • Paediatric Emergency Services
  • Paediatric Intensive Care Unit
  • Paediatric Nephrology/Dialysis/Transplant
  • Paediatric Neurosciences
  • Paediatric Oncology
  • Specialty Medical Paediatrics
  • Specialty Surgical Paediatrics

    and: Administrative Assistants, Senior Administrative Assistants 

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL:

  • Masters degree in a healthcare related field
  • Registered Nurse
  • Current nursing licensure
  • At least 10 years Paediatric nursing progressive management experience in Academic Medical Centres in North America, UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of high risk paediatric transport
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and advocate for paediatric patient care standards as published by the Joint Commission, Joint Commission International and professional nursing literature 
  • Demonstrated ability to make oral and written presentations to diverse audiences on paediatric nursing, health care, and organizational issues
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    PREFERRED:

  • Paediatric critical care nursing experience in a Western Academic Medical Centre
  • Paediatric Critical Care Certification
