St John’s Hospice, as part of the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, offers comprehensive specialist palliative care to a wide variety of patients and is recognised for offering much greater access to people with other life limiting illness, through our In-Patient, Day Services and Community settings.
As part of developing the range of services we offer patients throughout Hospice Day Services a unique opportunity has arisen for a:
Senior Nurse Band 7
Salary up to: £ 40,411.00 (inclusive per annum) -
22.5 Hours Per Week
Hospice Day Services offers access to a range of interventions and programs to help people address and manage their specific physical, psychological and spiritual issues and challenges in a safe and supportive space, with an emphasis on optimising and maintaining health and wellbeing. Social interaction and involvement in creative activities are encouraged as integral to the overall ethos of sustaining a meaningful quality of life for as long as possible. As we continue to develop Day Services we are looking for someone who has an interest in and experience of:
• taking a leadership role in developing, promoting & providing a robust clinical service, including provision for infusions and transfusions
• working with people with Cancer, HIV and other life limiting illnesses
• understanding and responding to issues facing people with mental health concerns (e.g. dementia) and mental health issues
•the development and provision of individual and group approaches and initiatives
• engagement and liaison with primary and secondary health and social care providers
