An Intensive Care Unit Sister/Charge is required to provide effective clinical and managerial leadership to a team of nursing and ancillary staff.
The position will report to the Critical Care Services Manager.
General Responsibility:
The key responsibilities will include:
establish optimum care standards which meet or exceed agreed standards
Provide shift leadership and undertake additional management responsibilities within the Intensive Care Unit
work collaboratively with other managers to implement and achieve the units short and long term goals
Actively participate in an effective staff performance system
Requirements:
Applicants must have significant Critical Care experience at Junior sister level or above.
A postgraduate Critical Care Course (ENB 100 or equivalent) is essential together with a Mentorship and preceptorship course or other teaching certificate.
The successful applicant must have a proven track record of Critical Care Unit shift and team leadership as well as a strong clinical acumen.
The ability to build relationships with colleagues and consultants will be essential.
